Remlinger Farms

What a great day to head out and play at a farm. Today after Caleb's 4 week appointment we headed out to Remlinger Farm. By the way Caleb ways 11lbs 8oz. We headed out to Carnation and had lunch then the farm. It was a fun place for Allison. We saw animals and went on a lot of rides. This farm has changed so much since I had been their 12 years ago. They have really done a great job putting it together. The best part for me was spending time with my family. Kyle carried Caleb so I could enjoy the rides with Allison. IT was a great mommy and daughter time.

Happy Birthday Allison

We celebrated Allison's 3rd birthday at our park down the street. It was a great day to celebrate. She was so excited to have all her friends with her on this day.

Happy Birthday Allison! Mommy and daddy love you very much. I can hardly believe you are 3.

Seattle Locks

Since Kyle had been home on paternity leave and I can actually do a little more walking, we decided to get out and do some fun stuff. On this day we decided to go to the Seattle Locks. It was a bit cloudy but humid outside. We had a great time watching a few fish come in. After the locks we went to the local beach down the road. It was an interesting place I have to tell ya. We walked around and allowed Allison to burn some energy. We even got yelled at by a guy on drugs about holding Allison's hand. It was funny but a little scary. We played a little at the park and then headed home.

First bottle

Most of you know that Allison did not take a bottle until she was about 7 months. She also did not take a Binky until she was about 5 months. I decided with Caleb we would start early on the bottle. I did not want to go through what I did with Allison. It was tough not being able to go out on a date with Kyle because Allison would not take a bottle. We finally broke her of it and was able to get out together. With Caleb we tried a bottle about 2 1/2 weeks old. He took to it like a champ. I think he did not want to starve so he drank about 4oz. It was so nice because it gave me a chance to get out on Saturday with my dad for fathers day. Plus Allison really wants to be apart of helping me out with her brother and she wants to feed him the bottle. It was a great bonding experience for her.

Sister coping Daddy

Allison enjoys her brother so much. She loves to copy mom or dad in whatever we are doing. On this day she copied Kyle by caring her doll in a sling. She loves to copy me and breast feed her baby doll as well. Last night while feeding Caleb, Allison sat next to me and said her incision was hurting. I had to laugh because I was in pain with my incision last night so once again she was coping me. She is so cute when she does that. I know she will make a good mom one day.

Calebs First Bath

This is a little late but we gave Caleb a bath a little while after we got out of the hospital. So far he enjoys it. I love the smell of a baby after a fresh bath. As of now Caleb is doing well. He is having a hard time with gas these days. I can not figure it out I am not eating a lot of gassy food. I am actually trying to get back on my wheat and gluten free diet. I hope we get through it because it does keep him up at night. He still has reflex but we are working on that as well. Mom and tired are a little tired. Allison continues to challenge us but we are praying a lot and encouraging each other through this time.

2 Weeks Old

Today we took Caleb to his two week Appointment. He did not like getting undressed and weighed. Caleb is thriving. He weighs 10lbs 2oz and is 22 3/4 long. I can hardly believe he is almost the size of Allison when she was born. Caleb is a good baby. He continues to sleep well all throughout the day and night. We get up about once a night with him and then once in the early morning. He continues to spit up a little and have the hiccups but the Dr says that is normal. We love having Caleb home. The hard part for me right now is I still have a little pain from the c-section so I can not clean the house. Kyle is doing great by keeping Allison busy and keeping the house kept up. He is home for 3 more weeks and then my life will be a little different. Please pray that the transition of Kyle going back to work and me staying home with two kids goes well.

Early Morning Today

This morning at 430am I woke to Caleb crying. It was time to eat. I picked him up and attached him to my breast. Not sure what happened after that but I woke about 540am and he was still on my breast fast asleep. At 545 Allison came rushing in wanting to cuddle. She would not go back to her own bed and she would not sleep in our bed. It was a tough morning. While trying to get her calmed down she kept saying to Kyle she did not want the sheets on she was hot. Kyle kept pulling them up saying he was cold. I felt like I had two 3 year olds in the bed. Then Kyle said, "I'm cold I want the covers on. Go in your room because its colder in there." This morning was full of frustration and much humor. We are very tired. Kyle and I need to get to be a little earlier. I am not sure why I stayed up so late last night. What was I thinking? I have a newborn and a 3 year old with lots of energy. I think I have learned my lesson.

Hiking with Dad

Today Kyle took Allison on a hike to rattle snake lake. It was good to have the house to myself with Caleb. I enjoyed just having one kid at a time. Caleb and I hung out at home since I can not drive until the end of the week. Kyle and Allison had a good time. They had lunch by the lake and they hiked to an amazing view. I have never hiked this trail so I look forward to taking Caleb one day with us.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to my dear friend Jen and Aunt Sandra. Jen is a dear friend in my life that I absolutely look up to. I hope you have a great day Jen. You too Aunt Sandra. We know Uncle Chad will spoil you so enjoy it. The weather is great, we wish you both a Happy birthday on this wonderful day.

My Son the Eating Champ

Today we had our postpartum care appointment. What that is, they check to make sure the mom is doing OK and that the baby is breastfeeding well. When most people go to this check up the babies have trouble latching onto mom and the mom has many different emotions. For me this was a wonderful visit. I was not emotional and I knew Caleb was eating well. When they weighed Caleb the Dr was surprised at his weight. Usually babies loose weight after birth and have trouble gaining it back in a few days. Not Caleb the boy is a champ. He weighed in at 8lbs 13.5oz. The Dr was surprised and said she can't wait to brag to others about him. She commented on how well he looked and weighed. I have a champion eater that is for sure. So far Caleb is doing awesome. He sleeps, eats and poops great. Mom, Dad and sister are doing well too. Thank you all for bringing us meals it has helped us a great deal, especially since it is so hot.
