Trick or Treat

I am not so sure about this.

OK, Daddie is with me. I'm happy.
I'm Flying like a lady bug. Who is this hippey (GREGG) OK, this looks fun.

Well for Allison that is twickteat. This was Allison's first Halloween. After her nap today we headed over to dads work for a little trick or treating. The whole way over Allison kept saying "da da" She hadn't seen Kyle since Monday night. As soon as we got out of the car she ran to Kyle and did not let go of him. It was a little crazy at Microsoft, if you can only imagine. We got in and up to Kyles office. Allison was not really into walking around but she got a few pieces of candy before we headed out and over to Mill Creeks, Trunk or Treat. We met my friend April and her family. It was a lot of fun. Allison was still a little weirded out about it so she sat in Gibson and Grady's stroller while Gibson guided us through to each car. Yep, the little Lion lead us all around. He was so fun to watch. I hope Allison will be like that next year. She got a little scared by some pirates but other then that she just took it all in. At the end with much surprise Allison and Gibson got to sit in a the front seat of a fire truck, WOW! The kids both loved it. We then headed inside and they had toys set up for the little ones to play with. Allison was more into feeding the baby dolls and Gibson was into the fire trucks. Boys will be boys and girls will be girls. Grady (Gibson's little bro) on the other hand just went on for the ride.

Snoopy (Grady) so cute.

Gibson, Allison and Kiah (Gibson's neighbor)OK, I'm a little worried now.

Someday has had a long day. Allison and Daddie waiting on our fish.

Saturday we spent the day in Seattle. It was such a nice day we decided to take Allison to the Aquarium for the first time since she was 4 months old. She had such a blast seeing all the fish and birds and seals. We then headed up to Pike Place, got lunch and then got some yummy fish and veggies for dinner. We didn't realize how much fun we can have in the city. We enjoyed it so much down there we hope to go again.

Climbing at the Park
Today was another amazing sunny but cold day in Seattle. I met my friend April and the boys at the local park. Allison was excited to just get out. We had fun running around and swinging. Allison, Gibson and I took a little walk around the trail and found birds and a squirrel eating a pine cone. April was feeding Grady I decided to have the kids burn more energy up on our walk. Allison started to shiver so we headed home. I had so much fun just being out side.

Potty in the Potty

About 2 weeks ago I decided to buy Allison a potty. She has been very interested in mommy going potty. Now, of course we are not ready to potty train but she does sit on the potty when Kyle or I are going. She also tells us when something is going on down there. I know she feels the sensation of something going on. Last night after her bath she stood up and squatted and grabbed herself. I said, "do you have to go potty?" She said, "yes" so i put her on the potty. I thought she was kidding but when she got up look what mommy saw?

Yep, it was yellow.

I was so excited that I brought it down stairs to show Kyle and his bible study guys. We are not pushing her to try the potty its all in her time but she sure likes sitting on it.

RIBS are the BEST!

Check out that face. She loves it.
Dad is happy too.

The other night I made some ribs for dinner. Awhile back we learned that Allison just loved the ribs. I think what she loves is the sauce. She scarfed them down so fast I could not cut it up fast enough. Dad loved them too.

Thoughts from Mom

Oh, how time flies by. She has grown so much since the summer

4Th of July.

I love being a mom.

This past week has been a huge blessing. I was able to get out with my husband on a few dates for the first time probably since my August. I have often wondered how do families do it? How do they raise their children and still have time for themselves? You defiantly have to make your spouse a priority otherwise you grow apart. Kyle and I had the chance to rec connect and it was needed for me. I spend most of my time at home with Allison. I clean, cook, take Allison to her classes, lead a bible study and more. At the end of the day I am so tired I have nothing to give to Kyle. All I want to do is curl up read a good book and not be bothered. It is so easy to just hide away from your spouse when you are done giving so much of yourself. I am so very thankful that Kyle is my best friend and puts up with me. I am constantly reminded at our parenting class "Parenting is Heart work" that "Marriage is Heart work." We re not just learning to raise our child in the Lord, but we are learning to lean on God for guidance in our marriage.

Kyle and I recently went out with some old friends, Mitch and his wife Allison. We are so blessed to have them in our lives, they have seen us go through some major life changing events in the past 5 years.

As I got to talk with Allison more she became and encouragement to me as a mom. They have 2 daughters one in college and one in high school. She shared with me some of her hard times she had with her youngest daughter. I realized that hearing Allison talk about raising her kids, made my days with my baby Allison not so bad. We always think our lives are tough until we hear from another mom. I am reminded that being a mom is a gift from God. I need to be more thankful as we all do on those tough days.

Jump Planet

Mommie and Allison going down the fast slide
Its a little bumpy in here
I'm not sure about this

OK, i think I got it.

Last Friday I met my friend April and all her neighbors at Jump Planet http://www.jump-planet.com/. It was our first time there. Its an indoor playground with all inflatables things to do. At first Allison was not sure about the whole place. She did not like crawling in a little whole to get to the slide or jump area. Mom had to climb in with her a few times. Let me tell you they do not make the wholes big enough for adults. We had a great time though. The pictures are a little blurry but that is because we are moving at a fast speed. I also got a burn on my arm going down one slide with Allison. She continues to kiss mommies owe all the time. Its so cute.

Pumpkin Carving Time

Allison waiting patiently.
ooh, pumpkin tops
This is fun. I like the goo.
More goo
Look what I got.

Do you wonder where Allison gets her crazy hair? From MOM.
Pumpkin DAD.
Im thinking I might eat this.

We finally got to carve the pumpkins. This past week Kyle and I were on the go almost every night. Kyle only saw Allison a few times last week. This weekend we decided to do some major family time, we stayed home, shopped at costco, visited with Aunt Sandra and Uncle Chad, and we carved our pumpkins. I thought for sure Allison would dive right into her pumpkin. Nope, she rather take one seed at a time and put it into the bowl. After Kyle and I scooped our pumpkins Allison enjoyed playing in the bowls of pumpkin guts and seeds. The best part for her was to carry the pumpkin tops around. We had a lot of fun. The cleaning up was the best part, not. Allison loves saying baba (pumpkin).

Pumpkin Patch Day 2

We decided to head back to the pumpking patch for the second day. The weather was amazing this weekend. We also got free passes to get into the festival. We did not want to pass up the wonderful day.
