Thoughts for today

Hello everyone. I try so hard to blogg but it seems like day to day life just takes over. Recently I received a blogg from my friend Sarah. She is living in LA for a few months with her husband and little boy. She blogged about her laundry experiance. Basically she has to walk a little ways to do laundry away from her apartment in about 100 degree heat. She shared how she has to share a laundry with other tenants. I wish i could share the whole story with you, its pretty funny. It really groses me out to think about sharing a machine with others. I am a germ aphobic. We are all spoiled by not having to share a machine with others. This week I have been doing laundry almost every day. It don't like laundry but when I fold the laundry Allison and I have a lot of fun. She is such a big helper. So i had to take this picture of her and share it with you all.

Rock on to the 80's, thats my girl. Today i got on the computer and saw this picture of my daughter. Recently i was giving her a bath and did the same thing but i did not have the camera. I reminded me of my time in Atlanta. Most of you you know i lived with the a family in Atlanta, the Petersons. While i was giving Allison a bath and spiking her hair with shampoo it reminded me of Hannah Peterson when she was Allies age. (ALlison's middle name is Hannah) I used to have so much fun doing this to Hannah, never in my wildest dreams did I think i would be doing it to my own little girl. I know some of you are saying, "oh terra, its just a spiked air due." Yep, but it brings back a lot of fun memories living in Atlanta. I am so blessed to have a child. Some days i don't feel like a good parent but days like this remind me how preciouse time and life is with one. I encourage you all to enjoy each moment of your childrens lives. They grow up so fast. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts today.

Love to Read

Most of you know that Allison does not let mom out of her sight. Even at home mom has another person at her feet all the time. Today was another story. I turned on some music in Allison room, she grabbed some books and sat in her chair for about 10 mins. She kept getting more books and stacking them on herself and she looked through them all. This was moms dream. Will she learn to play by herself now? Like I said it only lasted 10 mins. It was the best 10 mins I got to myself.

Come Build an Allison

Where is Allison? Allison is in this phase of stacking toys on other toys. Today i grabbed my camera. She was having so much fun putting all the toys in the box with her. After stacking her toys in with her she just wanted to hang out in the box. She is too cute.

Come Sail away with me.

Out the door and off to the ferry boat to the Island Kyle and I go. Can you believe it, Kyle and I finally got a night away together? Wednesday afternoon, grandma and grandpa Hutchison came to stay at our house and watch little Allison. She was so excited to see them. As a new mom I was a little scared to leave her, but excited to get away with my man.

Getting out of the house was a little adventure for us. Kyle got home, mom got Allison together and ready for grandma, the car was packed and off we went. As soon as we got onto the ferry Kyle said, " I think I need to relax a little." Ya think so? He was now on the same page as me, Island time, no agenda. It was a sunny day and I wanted to just enjoy our time. No worring about when to eat or where to go, this was our time.

We arrived on Whidbey Island and drove to a little town called Langley. It was a cute town to walk through we enjoyed the shops and most of all the view. After a few hours in Langley we drove to greenbank and checked into our bed and breakfest at The Guest House Log Cottages. This was not the typical bed and breakfest that we normally visit. We felt like we were away from the city and in the woods. We swam in the pool and relaxed in our cottage before heading out to Oak Harbor for a nice meal. We then headed back to our cottage and enjoyed a nice time in the hot tub, drank some wine and just talked. Its then we realized, maybe we dont need to go away from home, we just need a hot tub and a bottle of wine.

Thursday morning we woke up in our wonderful Carriage house, ate breakfest and headed back to Langley. If you ever want a quick day away, whidbey Island is the place. There is so much to do. Next time we hope to bring Allison with us.
I almost did not want to return home. We could of used another day. We got home and it was like we had never left. Allison looked at us and just said, "hi" she then gave us hugs. It is so wonderful to come home to Allison with open arms. We did miss her hugs and kisses. Kyle and I hope to get away more often. Who knows when the next adventure or spa day will come.

Growing so fast

Today has been one of those days. Those days where you just want to hide in your room and not come out. Where you wish you had a minute to go pee by yourself.

Since the weather has not been the best here in Washington, I decided to take Allison to the mall after her nap. Heres what happend. You know when kids cant get their way, then they throw themselves on the ground and look at you and then cry? At 14 months she knows what she is doing. We walked out of Pottery Barn and I put her down to run outside. For some reason Allison did not like that. She plopped herself right infront of the door way laid on the ground looked at all the people around and pretended to cry. As a new mom, what is that telling me? Does she want to go into pottery barn again or does she just want attention? How much attention can you give a child. I took her to the mall to play wasn't that enough?
I love my little girl. I think she may like to shop at a young age. In thought,I guess she wanted more. Oh, how they start young. I picked her up and then laughed with the crowd. You have to have these moments to appreciate yourself as a mom. Oh, how smart they are.
