Girls Night

The girls, Maure, Amy, Tamara, myself and Elke.

my two goofy girls.
My flowerless cake. It was so yummy. I shouldn't of had the ice cream though.
Kyle asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday this year. I said I wanted to have a girls night out. I have not celebrated my birthday with my girlfriends in a really long time. My best friend Amy put it together. We met at PF Chang's in Lynnwood. We had a great time chatting it up, drinking good wine and eating wonderful food. I love PF Chang's because they have gluten free menu. I had so much fun laughing. I only invited a few girls that I was close to. Some were not able to attend and they were missed. I truly appreciate my gals. They have been in my life through the good and the bad. I was so blessed to spend time with them without kids. Thank you for making my day so special.

My Birthday

I had a great birthday. I will say I did feel a little depressed though. I think it is because I am 38 and my youngest is going to be 1 this year, who knows. I am still trying to get out of my little funk that I am in. It could also be because we are having some challenges with Allison lately. It has not made me the best mom. I pray every day and am thankful Jesus gives me strength. OK, back to my birthday. Kyle let me sleep in. Allison and Daddy made me breakfast and then we set off to the zoo. It was Caleb's 2nd time to the zoo. He enjoyed seeing the animals. The weather started out good and then it rained. We spent some of our time in the zoomanium and Caleb enjoyed it. Allison would not let us take any pictures of her, but she was with us. After the zoo we came home and I got to take a nap. We then went out to dinner to one of my favorite restaurants, Azul. Yummy! It was a great day. Thank you Kyle, Allison and Caleb for letting mommy enjoy a relaxing day.

Caleb Eating/Sleeping

Caleb is enjoying his first gluten free waffle. He loved it. He actually loves a lot of food. I hope that continues through out his life. Right now he is enjoying eating raisins, sprouts, carrots, peas and chicken. Some times I feel as though I am not feeding him enough because he always asks for more. I love a growing boy.
Here Caleb is in bed. I caught him sleeping with his butt up and as soon as I was taking the picture he woke up. What a sweet boy. Yep, he is finally sleeping from 8pm-8am. Now that I type this it will probably change again.

What Caleb and Napoleon Have In Common

Caleb loves to eat. He also loves to drop food and watch it fall to the floor. Not so funny for mom and dad who end up cleaning it up later! Lately though he has been storing food in his lap at dinner time which reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite and him storing his tater tots in his cargo pocket for later. Caleb stores his food on his right leg. Last night though he was hilarious with this. He moved some chicken from his tray to his leg. Mom spoke up and said, "No Caleb, let's eat the chicken." She pulled it from his lap and put it back on the tray. Then, he grabbed the same chicken and moved it to his mouth and pretended to eat it, but then slyly moved it to his lap again! Mom started cracking up! I missed it the first time, but a minute later he did the same move again this time grinning coyly. What a nut!!

Last Day at Cannon Beach

Kyle Flying his Kite. I took this picture and love it because it has Haystack Rock in it.

The wind took my kite over.

Fun at the house. I wish I had an Island in my kitchen.

The last 2 days in Oregon were so gorgeous. It was sunny and just perfect for flying kites. We had the last day with our family. It was just perfect. Kyle and I got some down time and I believe we actually got some sleep that night. We spent the day in town and on the Beach. Allison still was not feeling well but she enjoyed being on the beach. Caleb enjoyed it so much that he ate a whole bunch of sand. Although Allison tole me that she could not remember if Caleb put the sand in his mouth or if she did. Hmmmmm, I think by the look of it Allison poured it into his mouth. We will never know for sure though. We left on Saturday and had a nice ride home. Once again our kids are great travelers. It was good to arrive home and wind down.

Another fun Day at the Beach

Papa and Grandma Kling made it down for a couple of days. So did Grandma and Grandpa Hutchison. We had such a great visit with both Grandparents. On this day we went to Mo's for dinner. My parents have not been to Cannon Beach in a long time. They loved going to Mo's. Papa took the kids out to feed the seagulls. Caleb was loving it. He even tried to feed the seagulls his napkin. It was a funny sight to watch.
Allison just kept throwing her french fries. I even had one come to my hand and take it out of my hand. I could feel their sharp razors on their beaks.

Every day after rest time we would all take a walk out on the beach. It was sunny but very windy. My dad loved taking Allison out to find shells. They found a lot of sand dollar shells. Allison really enjoyed spending time with her Papa. She doesn't get to see him very often so it was nice for her. I enjoyed her bonding with both grandparents but it was extra special for me to see her with my dad.

Caleb spend much of his time on our backs. Even when we flew our kites. He loved watching daddy fly Allison's kite.

I love this picture of Caleb. Not sure what he is thinking.

Here is a view from Ecola State Park. On this day it was very cold and windy. We took a family picture and Allison had her binoculars on. We were watching for wales and sea lions.

Papa and Caleb outside on our deck. We had a mountain view.

Cannon Beach

Today We arrived to one of our favorite Places. We Stopped in Vancouver to visit my good friend Sharlene and her family. The kids did great on the way to Cannon Beach. Well Allison threw up right as we were heading out of Seattle. I caught most of it in my hand. It was not a pretty sight. She felt better after her tummy was all cleaned out. We had lunch with Sharlene and then went through Portland down to Cannon Beach. It was a beautiful drive. We arrived at our destination and decided to get settled and then eat out. After getting a quick dinner we headed to the beach. It was a very short walk to the beach from the house we rented. It was so great. We felt like we had out own little beach away from all the tourists. After the sun went down we headed back into the nice warm house and got the kids ready for bed. Kyle headed to Seaside to get groceries for the week. We decided that if we rented a house it would be better to eat at home. Kyle arrived home around 1030 and he was not feeling well. After about an hour he starting throwing up and Allison woke up with 105 fever. I was going a little crazy not being in our own home. I gave Allison the rest of Caleb's Tylenol and then headed to seaside myself at midnight in my jammie's to get more medicine, 7up and pedia light. Kyle and Allison were in one room while Caleb and I slept in the other room. The good thing is Kyle had a little bit of food poisoning. Allison still had a little fever when she woke up so we took it easy on Wednesday.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Our Artist

Our Clown

Her very own creation. She was so proud of the eggs she did.

I did this one and I do have to say it looks wonderful. Too bad I can't eat eggs.

Tonight we enjoyed coloring Easter Eggs. This year we did some different. I saw on TV that you could use water and tissue paper. I have so much tissue paper I thought it would be fun to put them on the eggs. It is so easy and not as messy as the coloring. We also did painting on the eggs and coloring. Allison had so much fun painting and doing the tissue paper. Kyle and I even got into it. Caleb enjoyed his time playing and watching us.
