Bangs and Blonde

Tonight I had a moms night out by myself. I decided to get my hair done. I have been searching for a new dew for a long time now. So I had my gal cut my bangs off and turn me into a blond. I have not had bangs in about
10 years so I feel a little weird with them. I also have not been a blond for about 3 years now, I feel like a new woman. This isn't the greatest picture but I am happy with my hair. It felt good to get my head pampered. When I got home Kyle was a little shocked. See, Kyle has never seen me with bangs. He said he likes it, but it will take him a little getting used to. I wonder what Allison will think? Maybe now I will look a little more like her mom with the blond hair.

New Friend

Kyle and I decided to re-finance our home. We had our friends Kurt, Rachel and Ashley Harris come by and get us started. Kurt is a our new broker and a good one I might say. Anyways, Allison and Ashley are about 1 year apart. Allison just adored Ashley. She kept sharing her toys with her and trying to feed her pretend food from her kitchen. It was great for me to see because we are talking about having another baby. Allison was so gentle and loving with Ashley. I guess its time to start trying again, maybe not just yet.

Ashley is a tiny little girl but very strong. We decided to put her in Allison's doll stroller and Allison push her around. Oh, how she loved pushing a real baby around. Aren't they just so cute?

Diaper Thong

A few weeks ago Kyle and I asked Uncle Chad to babysit. We had a meeting at church and it was during Allison's nap. Allison was very excited for Uncle Chad to babysit. I was a little worried at first that Chad did not know how to change a diaper. Kyle reassured me that he did. Right before we left Allison pooped so Uncle Chad was lucky that Kyle was home to change it. When we arrived home every thing looked good on the home front. Allison seemed happy and Chad survived a few hours with an 18 month old. After Chad left I was playing with Allison and I noticed her butt looked a little funny. I pulled her pants down and to my surprise, yep uncle Chad had changed her diaper. Check the picture out. (Oh Aunt Sandra was home sick that day)

Need I say more?

Not much going on

I have been reading all my friends blogs this past week. I feel as though I am too tired to sit down and share my thoughts. I also have not been good at taking pictures of Allison. I am already backed up with 1 year of scrapbooking. I also dont really have much to say these days. We have been busy with getting back to a routine after having Dad home for 3 weeks. Allison and I were on are way and doing well. Then Kyle got sick and Allison got attached to Dad again. Kyle got my cold I had for 3 weeks over the holidays. He is doing better now. Allison and I have been so busy with music class, hanging out with friends and toddler class. I sit here and type and think wow, Allison is about 19 months. She is changing so much. She talks more and plays more by herself. One thing Kyle and I are learning is her emotions are crazy too. She does not understand why she does certain things but she is learning more about emotions. The big thing we are teaching her now is time out. I will have to say I am very lucky with Allison. I don't have to put her in time out too much. I know that will change as she gets older. Anyways, we have a pink chair in Allison's room and we now put her on that chair for time out. She amazed me when i put here their and told her not to move and she was in time out. She stayed in the chair the whole time. One thing about Allison she does not like to be alone so when i leave her in her room for 1 min alone she sometimes will scream. Children amaze me at how much they really do understand. We have learned to explain to Allison what she did wrong and to say sorry. She says sorry in sign language and then hugs us. I hope this parenting lessons stay with her and us over time. Its all about consistency right? Anyways, we are enjoying Allison so much and are talking more about when to start for the second Hutchison. Some days I just cant think of sharing my time with another child. I enjoy Allison so much and we are having a lot of fun these days, even with all her molars and eye teeth coming in.

Seattle Aquariam

Last Friday we headed down to Seattle and spent the day with the Van Liews. We got to the Aquarium and started off with a art project. Allison enjoyed being able to glue stuff on a otter puppet. She had so much fun.

Allison loved walking around and touching sea stars. She loved being able to see her first
octopus. She was such a ham today. Allison loves being with Chloe and Keith. Every time we go out now she says, "Keith" I think she has a crush on him. Who wouldn't he is so handsome.

snow shoeing

Kyle took a day off from home and headed to the Mt to snow shoe with his Uncle Mike. He is hooked and ready to get me out there. NO WAY. ITs too cold for me.

Visit from Portland

My friend Sharlene was in town and she came to visit us. It was so much fun to have time with Sharlene. Allison loved showing off her new horse to Sharlene. We didn't do much we just hung out at home and watched a movie. The next day Sharlene had to go home. I took her to the spotted cow for coffee. The spotted cow is one of my favorite places to just relax. After coffee Shar Shar had to leave. I miss having her up here. I have known Sharlene for about 25 years or longer. We love and miss you shar shar.

Happy New Year

Happy 2008. This year Kyle and I celebrated with Family and Friends. First we headed out to dinner with the Hutchisons. We had some great Thai food. Allison loved it as well. We then headed over to Uncle Chad and Aunt Sandra's house for a little celebration. Some of you know I am not a big new years celebration gal. This year they talked me into wearing a crown, Yeah. Allison loved playing at her aunt and uncles house. After some food and a little fun Kyle and I headed off to Party, ya right. No, MY old friend Shannon was moving the next day to Alaska so we met up with some old friends to celebrate. Shannon ended up leaving early because of some family stuff. The rest of us just sat around, drank, ate and Laughed. After we did the count down my friend Wendy decided she wanted to let off some fire works. Kyle and I decided to head home after that. We are so excited to celebrate a new year with Allison. Oh, ya we left Allison with Grandma and Grandpa Hutchison that night. She did great.

Merry Christmas

I have been thinking lately a lot about Christmas this year. Kyle and I started a new tradition with Allison. We decided that on Christmas eve we will go to church. Since Kyle and I have been together we have always been doing the traditional Hutchison Christmas eve party. We will miss doing the Hutchison party, but we felt that going to a service was the best thing to do with our kids. This year we joined Nancy and Bob at Eastide Christian Church for a 4pm Service. Allison loved going into a new room and playing with new toys. She is growing up so fast. She turned to me and said bye. We then had Kyles family over and my parents for some good chili. We then exchanged gifts with each other. Allison had a blast. She was spoiled with a lot of new toys. When she opened her rocking horse up she just wanted to rock rather then open other gifts. The next morning Kyle, Allison and I got up and opened gifts together. My family came over that afternoon and we exchanged gifts with them. That night we spent time with Kyles other side of the family. Allison was spoiled with both sides.

After Christmas I kept thinking to myself gosh did we even think about Christ today? I feel as though we just let the day fly by and never even thought about Him. It made me think how can I change that for next year? I want Allison to grow up knowing the real reason we celebrate Christmas. My friend Tamara gave me a good idea. Her family had a birthday party for Jesus. They had cup cakes and then sang happy birthday to him. What a great idea and how special that was for Jesus to see. I may have to steal that idea. My prayer for the new year is to reflect on Jesus more and celebrate Him more each day. We shouldn't just celebrate his birth on Christmas we should celebrate it every day.
