A night out Together

Yahoo, Sunday after church Allison went to stay at Grandmas house. Allison loves to go to her grandparents house so we took the opportunity to get out. We dropped her off and then headed home to do work on the house. Kyle worked in the back yard building a wall for our garden, while I cleaned the house. I love a clean house. Later that night we headed out on our date.
Kyle and I do get out but it's not always together. It was such a great day to get out and have a nice dinner. We headed out to Edmond's water front and ate at Arnie's. I enjoyed my food and a glass of wine. Kyle had some fish and good chowder. After dinner we did not know what to do so we decided to buy ice cream at the store and we showed up at the Van Liews with dessert. We love spending time with Tamara and Phil. This was even better to hang out with them w/out a child always needing out attention. Don't get me wrong I love my daughter. It was just nice to have adult conversation without interruptions. We did get interrupted by Chloe but that was OK with me. After some good dessert and conversation we headed to see a movie. Its been nice being able to get out and see some movies but gosh they are so expensive. We ended up seeing the move "baby Mama" it was OK. I would say wait to rent it. We stayed out late that night and slept in until about 10am. It was weird waking up with out Allison. Kyle and just hung out at home and did some errands on Monday. Kyle also helped our neighbor Jon put dirt in his front yard. We picked up Allison around 330 then headed over to my best friend Amy's house for a BBQ. IT was so fun. They have this amazing big back yard with a swing set and we just sat out side all night talking and watching the kids play. It was so much fun to bond with the Aldworths. The best part is Amy was getting rid of a lot of old toys the girl used to play with and we took home, books, plates, cash register, bowls and a little tike's shopping cart. Allison was so excited to have all her new stuff. Thank you Amy for all the great stuff.

Happy Birthday Garrett

playing ball with daddy

Sunday May 18Th we Celebrated my nephew Garrett's 15Th Birthday. We didn't do much just had cake and ice cream. Allison played outside in the front yard. She had a little accident and now keeps saying "owe, papa's house" It is so cute how she remember things. I tried to take some pictures but she hates when I do it.

this is one of my favorite photos of her.

Planting Day

I am loving this weather. I finally get to work in the yard and plant some great flowers and veggies. After church Kyle and I took Allison to a local nursery and we shopped for plants. She thought it was a lot of fun. I put every thing out and waited after her nap to plant them. I think she enjoyed more getting wet and dirty then planting them. Her new words are "me do it mommy." I really hope she enjoys gardening as much as I do. Gardening really filled my spirit that day and I hope to do more with Allison. I realized with gardening it has helped me connect with God outside. Having such little time to spend in his word each day, gardening fills that time for me. I really hope this weather continues and we have a good summer; otherwise Allison and I are leaving for the south all summer.

Another hot fun filled day

Allison does not like her picture taken

This weekend our church put on a free carnival for the community. We had a lot of fun. They had games, bubbles, balloons, firemen, policeman, lunch and a lot more. Allison took it all in but by the time we left she wanted to try to win some candy. She played 2 games and she was done. A little ones attention span does not last long. I am learning Allison isn't much of a crowd sort of girl. She gets a little quiet and shy and wants us to hold her. She is defiantly growing into her own person.

Saturday night we had our annual get together with Kyles old college friends. We don't see any of them during the year which is a huge bummer but we love getting together when we can. It was such a hot day but we still had the BBQ going and talked outside. They enjoyed seeing Allison and were surprised how much she has grown. Kyle and I are waiting to see which married couple will have the next baby. Allison needs some more friends to play with when we all hang out. What was great is Tom and Misty came from Olympia and they had never seen Allison. They are going on 5 years of marriage. They got married about 6 months before we did. It was fun having them all here. Afterwards we played some pool and everyone headed home. Thanks for a great night.

Hot Weather At Last

Friday Tamara invited us to meet her and friends at the beach in Edmonds. I was excited to get out in the sun. I have been waiting to get excited for the summer. The weather around here has been horrible for me. I love the sun shine and I enjoy being out side. We had a great time at the park and after that we took a long nap. When Allison woke up I pulled out her little pool and we played in it until Daddy came home. Allison decided she did not want to wear clothes or a suite so I let her run naked, she had a blast. The only thing is the pool water was so cold she would not sit in it. After a long day in the sun we started to get ready for bed. Allison was so dirty she needed a shower. After our shower we found Allison walking around the house in mommies bathing suite. Got to love her.

Old Friends Come to Visit

Allison wearing Zachary's hat. She loved it.

This past week the Peterson's were in town. I begged Susan and Todd to have the kids stay with us the whole time. They stayed 2 nights with us and it was a blast. Allison loved having them around. My house seems so quiet without them. I enjoyed having them around. We stayed pretty busy by going to the Seattle Science Center, Hannah and I got our nails, Kyle and Zachary went to the batting cage. I never realized how much I missed these two until I saw them. We laughed a lot and the kids even got me to watch American Idol. On the last day I took the 3 kids out to lunch to Red Robin. When I lived in Atlanta I missed having a Red Robin. They miss having one too. Hannah is 10 now and Zachary is 8. It amazes me how time flys buy. I was so blessed to have them here and I know Allison felt that way too. We were all sad to see them go.

3d Imax The Grand Canyon

The best part about this trip is the power my husband has over Zachary. Zachary wanted me to buzz his hair off like Uncle Kyles. We talked to Susan and they said go for it. Susan said they try to get Zachary to cut is hair all the time but he just wont do it. They said that Kyle has some sort of power over him. I love it though. It was fun to buzz his hair. Maybe it is preparing me for a boy. We love you lots Hannah and Zachary.

Happy Mothers Day

Wow, there are days I can not believe I am a mother. Allison continues to bless my life is so many amazing ways. I Love being a mom. This year we did not do much. Having been very busy up to the actual day we decided to hang low. Kyle made me breakfast and we went to church. Pastor Chris had an amazing message it brought me to tears. After church we headed home for lunch and I actually got to rest and read my new book. I feel as though I don't have much time to read and I absolutely love to read when I get the chance. That night we celebrated mothers day with my family and Natachia my niece made us an excellent dinner. Thank you Kyle and Allison for making my mothers day a relaxing one. I love you both very much.

Dress Up time

While I was off taking a shower Gina got Allison to dress up an took a couple of pictures of her and Sophia. Allison is learning a little bit about the Disney Princess. As per the previous blog Snow White told us her story at Disneyland and Allison dressed up like her. My girl is getting so big.

A day at the Mall

Train ride

The 3 kids

running in the water

I can hardly believe its been a week since i was in California. Oh how I miss the sunny days. Our last full day their we went to an really nice outdoor mall.
We had lunch, did a little shopping, missed another nap and played in the water. Allison loved running around the water but would not go in like the rest of the kids. We had so much fun just watching the kids burn some energy off. I never thought I would love just being outside all day but it was a breath of fresh air. I got some new clothes and Allison got new clothes and then we headed home. Our week in California was so fun. You wouldn't know it but Josiah was sick in these pictures. When we got home, Dr Todd took his temp and he had a fever. He was running around all day at the mall and never said any thing about not feeling well. Kids amaze me when they are sick. We could really learn a lot from them.

Disneyland

Welcome To Disneyland

We arrived at Disneyland and decided to eat. I treated Allison to a lunch instead of bringing one. We shared so it did not cost us a lot of money. After Lunch we headed off to the rides.

Our first ride was Pinokio. Allison was a little unsure about it. We then headed off to the horse ride and she loved it.

Her is Allison, Sophia and Josiah waiting in line to get on dumbo. Can you tell which children live in the NW and which live in Cali? My daughter looks less dressed then G's kids. IT was a little joke with us all week. The Emerson's were stressed for NW weather and Allison and I were dressed for California weather. I love the sun.

Here we are on dumbo. It was fun to go up and down and around. I was surprised I didn't get sick. I think it was because I was so focused up shifting us up and down. After dumbo we headed over to Peter Pan. Allison thought it was amazing to just fly in the stars. It was great to see her smile. We headed around the park a lot and finally hit tune town. The Roger Rabbit ride was a little weird but the kids thought walking around was fun so while standing in line I took a few shots while they ate a snack.

One thing that was new to me is the Princess Area. They have one of the princess's tell a story. We heard snow white tell her story. Allison was not sure about it all because she does not know them but she enjoyed getting a crown from one of the princess. Gina took a couple of cute pictures of us sitting on her chair.

It was getting late and Allison had missed her nap. She was doing so good. I was very surprised how well she did with out a nap. We called Gina's husband to come and pick up the kids. Gina and I wanted to get on some big rides before they closed the park. We had one more ride to hit before Todd arrive. Allison's favorite ride, Winney the Pooh. She knows the characters and just thought it was so neat to see them live. Here she is with Sophia, they are too cute.

After the ride we went to meet Todd and for some reason Gina and I lost the car. All I remembered was G6 for me that means floor 6 row G. I did not now they had characters too. We laughed pretty hard about that. After searching 2 floors we found her car on Mickey. How could we have forgotten mickey? That's my friend Gina for you. I do love her though. Todd took the kids to dinner and home and Gina and I ran around the park and got on about 4 rides.

Here we are before one of the rides. I think it was Indiana Jones. I was so sweaty and dieing for some food. I was shaking and asked Gina for some gum. She pulled out a bag of candy. We started to gorge it down and all I could think is, I feel like someone who hides the food and shoves it down their throat. We needed to get our sugar up so it defiantly helps to pop a few candies in your mouth. Although afterwards I was feeling a little sick because I don't eat much candy. It was a great time and good memories. On our way home we decided to stop at the famous IN AND OUT burger place. If you know my friend Gina she loves to eat. We were so hungry that Gina also drove down the wrong way of the drive through. Yep, the people probably thought we were a bunch of drunk girls, well maybe high on candy. I had such a great time that day. It saddens me to be so apart from her. I look forward to visiting her again and so does Allison.
