Merry Christmas

I have been thinking lately a lot about Christmas this year. Kyle and I started a new tradition with Allison. We decided that on Christmas eve we will go to church. Since Kyle and I have been together we have always been doing the traditional Hutchison Christmas eve party. We will miss doing the Hutchison party, but we felt that going to a service was the best thing to do with our kids. This year we joined Nancy and Bob at Eastide Christian Church for a 4pm Service. Allison loved going into a new room and playing with new toys. She is growing up so fast. She turned to me and said bye. We then had Kyles family over and my parents for some good chili. We then exchanged gifts with each other. Allison had a blast. She was spoiled with a lot of new toys. When she opened her rocking horse up she just wanted to rock rather then open other gifts. The next morning Kyle, Allison and I got up and opened gifts together. My family came over that afternoon and we exchanged gifts with them. That night we spent time with Kyles other side of the family. Allison was spoiled with both sides.

After Christmas I kept thinking to myself gosh did we even think about Christ today? I feel as though we just let the day fly by and never even thought about Him. It made me think how can I change that for next year? I want Allison to grow up knowing the real reason we celebrate Christmas. My friend Tamara gave me a good idea. Her family had a birthday party for Jesus. They had cup cakes and then sang happy birthday to him. What a great idea and how special that was for Jesus to see. I may have to steal that idea. My prayer for the new year is to reflect on Jesus more and celebrate Him more each day. We shouldn't just celebrate his birth on Christmas we should celebrate it every day.
