Easter Egg Hunt

For Easter My family, Kyles parents and great Grandma Marie came over for Easter dinner. We had such a great time. Allison got a tone of books and toys. She even got some candy. We were suppose to do a egg hunt with the Van Liews but since it rained here that did not happen. We ended up doing a small one in our back yard and Allison had a blast. She was so excited. The best part was when she would open up her eggs and fine money, toys or candy in them. She put her money in her piggy bank and she thought that was great. Allison was hilarious the whole day. She was excited to have everyone over.

This was my first time planning a party for a holiday and it went off great. I enjoyed having all our loved ones around. The best part is teaching Allison why we celebrate Easter. Its not about all the eggs and bunnies its about Christ. She made a little art project in church today about the resurrection of Christ. It makes me smile to know others are teaching her the same values Kyle and I try to teach her every day.

My favorite part today was when Allison found candy and opened it up w/out me knowing it. She came into the kitchen, showed it to me and I said, "do you want to eat that?" she said, "Please." I could not say no to that. I didn't even have to ask her to say please she did it all on her own. It just blows me away that they learn so fast. I look at her and just thank the Lord for my precious little girl. Even though I feel like I fail as a mother at times, I know that I am doing something right when her words come out like that. Thank you Jesus, for showing me how to be the best parent, thank you for you dieing on the cross, thank you for my family. Happy Easter Everyone.
