Caleb started physical therapy for his neck. When he was about 2 months old I noticed that he was very dominate on the left side. He always laid his head on the left side and he always looked on the left side. They called this congenital torticollis. Caleb did not have a severe case but he did have issues. His left side of his head became flat so that made up see a Dr at Children's hospital. They measured his head and he was between a high 1 and a low 2. The sizes are normal, 1, 2, (3-5 which you will need a helmet). They said it was our choice if we wanted Caleb to wear a helmet. Kyle and I decided to do physical therapy first to see if that would help his neck and round his head out more. I do not want him to wear a helmet for 23 hours a day. During therapy we have learned a lot about Caleb. He is a low key baby. He is not eager to be on his tummy or use any of his muscles. The physical therapist mentioned that he may have "Low muscle tone" which is also call it hypotonia. Caleb does not have hypotonia, however; he does show low muscle tone but just not as extreme as hypotonia is. The therapist can not dygonoise it so when i take Caleb to his next check up we will discuss this issue.
I am not worried about Caleb at all. He is growing fast and developing fine in my eyes. He started swimming classes last week and he loves it. He is so comfortable in the water. He just wants to splash and kick. He is completely opposite of how Allison was when we put her in the water. Caleb is also starting to roll over on his tummy more often. He is eating more solid foods and has about 4 teeth that have popped up in the last month.
Speaking of teeth. The funny thing is the teeth are not coming in as the chart says they should. Caleb has one bottom tooth, one bottom side tooth and two top side teeth in, no front teeth yet. We call him the sharp tooth savor. He is such a joy to our life.
I will post pictures of him real soon.
