Christmas Eve Morning has begun with some yummy hot coco. Kyle made us all some yummy coco. Of course Mommy's had some yummy baileys inside it. Caleb even enjoyed a great deal of it. This year for Christmas eve we decided to spend it at the Hutchison home. We started having Christmas eve at our house but with our stairs Grandpa Bob can no longer make it up them. Plus it was nice for me not to have my house too clean on this wonderful day.
Christmas eve night we headed to church and then to the Hutchison home for some food and presents. The kids had a great time. Caleb opened a few presents and was done after awhile. He kept saying "no" to opening more presents. He then decided that playing in a box was the best part of the night. Allison was excited to open all the presents Caleb did not.
Allison had a wonderful year this year. Kyle and I decided we wanted to teach her to give rather then receive. This year we were able to bless many family's. Allison had so much fun shopping for a little girl. We pulled her info off a tree at church this year. She asked for strawberry short cake. Allison picked it out and with much surprise Allison received two of the same items that she bought for this little girl. I told her we could return the one and exchange if for another item. She said, " Mom can we give it to someone who might not have a strawberry shortcake?" I was shocked but very thankful she is learning it is better to give rather then receive. My daughter is growing up so fast. I am so thankful that God continues to show her new ways to give to others.
Kyle and I had a great time as well. We both got a lot of gifts that have been on out list's for a few years. We even got to spoil each other a little this year. Our greatest gift though is our families. We are so thankful that we got another year with them all. Especially Grandpa Bob.
This next year as a family we hope that our children will learn more about giving with joy rather then receiving with a selfish heart. I believe they are on their way. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice we are truly blessed and we give that back to you.
