My heart is truly broken. Jerry was like my second Dad. He has known me my whole life. Jerry was battling cancer for a long time now and in the last week he had turned for the worse. The cancer did not kill him but his heart failed in the middle of the night. He died in his sleep holding his wife Kathys hand. They have been long friends of our families and will miss him a lot. The last time I saw him was right after Allison was born. Here we are together at his daughter Jennifers wedding reception.
What can I say about Jerry. He was the life of the party. He was always cracking jokes and making us laugh. I spent many friday nights having pizza and pop with Jerry, kathy and my family. I always said to Jerry that he would walk me down the Isle when i got married. That is how close he is to me. He truly was like my other Dad. Jerry, loved life and he loved family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and Joy. I look forward to seeing him one day in Heaven.
Jerry and I had many talks about the Lord. I know when I saw him last he said he had finally made peace with God. Jerry you will be missed. I know you are in a better place and with your son that you lost at a young age. My heart breaks to know that my daughter will never get to meet you. My heart is also hopeful I will see you in heaven.

I KNOW how much you have talked about him through the years. I am shocked, and my thoughts are with you and your family. Death just never seems easy - even as a Believer, does it?
