The past few months I set a goal for myself. I have always wanted to do a tri-athlon. This July I made it happen. I did a super spring at Steel Lake in Federal Way. Kyle and I got a hotel room close to the park so I didn't have to get up any earlier then 530. Yep, Sunday July 11Th I got up way early to swim 1/4 mile, bike 10 miles and run 2.1 miles. I had such a great time doing this. It is such a rush to feel yourself accomplish something so huge. I learned that I sucked at swimming, was OK at biking and I am really good at running. I had friends praying for me during this time because I have had major back problems. The best part is I did not hurt one bit. You would never of known that I did all this with a bulging disk. It was a lot of fun. Our friend Fred even came out for his company to take some pictures. He got some great shots. I wish I could share them all but their are too many.

Early Morning

Setting up and getting very nervous about the swim.

Kyles support was wonderful and well appreciated.

Off to the dock

I made it.

Exhausted

a run back to the transition area. I had to run a little ways on grass and cement.

Off for the bike ride.

Just finished the amazing ride through Warehouser Campus

I must have music to run.

I just finished.

I got flowers from Kyle and a medal. It was worth it. I am looking forward to next year and doing the full sprint, that is if my back will let me. :)
